
When interviewing bootstrap entrepreneur Jed Rapaport for another of my blogs BootStrapMe.com, I discovered something surprising.
Of all the things Rapaport refused to spend money on—radio and newspaper advertising, new equipment for the bake shop he and partner Haika Powell launched early last year—it seems that money for a custom designed web site wasn’t one of them.
But why, I asked, when there are so many freebies out there that can be strung together by the most inexperienced newbie.
One example that popped to mind immediately since Rapaport and Powell were working to transform their bake shop into an online ordering business was Microsoft’s new Office Live.
